Breathe Easy (smoking cessation)
Breathe Easy is a 6 week smoking cessation program which offers support and education to adults who are either trying to cut down on the number of cigarettes smoked, and/or wish to quit smoking altogether. Topics covered include: the benefits of quitting, goal setting, identifying triggers, the effects of smoking on health, stress management and lifestyle options. Eat 4 Life
A unique healthy lifestyle program. The goal of Eat4Life is to build a foundation of healthy habits that will help you make healthy choices for life. With a Registered Dietitian you will earn how to change old habits, nourish your body and mind, choose foods and plan menus, and get active. This is a five week program brought to you by the Community Primary Care and Public Health partnership of Windsor and Essex County.
Socially Speaking Group
This is a six week group for persons who because of a chronic illness find it difficult to be in social settings and desire to actively increase their comfort level. Examples of group themes will include: living mindfully, developing a relationship with self, conversation skills, assertiveness skills, healthy boundaries, and relaxation skills. Overcoming Anxiety Group
Topics include: What is anxiety; how it manifests itself in your life; the connection between thought, mood, and behavior; letting go of negative thoughts; using relaxation, visualization and mindfulness skills. Registration required call (519) 971-0116
S.O.S. Stretch Out Stress
Improve flexibility and balance while reducing pain and stress through deep breathing, gentle movements, balance exercises and stretching. Open to the public. No registration required.
Yoga for Healthy Living
A beginner’s yoga class which focuses on breathing, calmness and stress reduction. Health benefits include increased flexibility, strength, better breathing and body awareness.
